The Shepherds Table
What does it take to be invited to dinner with Jesus? Who is accepted? Who is welcomed? Through a study of Luke’s Gospel, we see Jesus purposefully sharing meals with sinners, tax collectors who have taken advantage of others, self-righteous pharisees, social outcasts and everyday people. We see Jesus as present and taking an active role in the lives of those around the table with Him. Luke paints a beautiful picture of Jesus as our Good Shepherd who gently leads us and prepares a table specifically for us. He responds to our every need, whether it be for food, healing, teaching or correction. Anyone is welcome to Jesus’ table. No matter your position, title, role, or the circumstances you find yourself in currently, you have been given an open invitation from the Good Shepherd Himself to come sit at His feet so He can nourish, cleanse, and fill you up- body, soul and spirit.
In the Fall of 2022, Ellie Cunningham and Leslie Martin taught this series in Women’s Bible Study. They invite you to sit around the Shepherd’s Table and find that He is the answer to anything you are craving.
